Disney Infinity was an interesting project for the company, as it allowed them to make money from these awesome figures that could also let them use said character in the game. Even with characters from Marvel and Star Wars, Disney decided to stop supporting Infinity, pointing out how it was too costly to make.
Unsurprisingly, there were a number of sets that were planned for Infinity before the cancellation was announced. Doctor Strange, Moana, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story had planned sets and figures, so it's not much of a surprise to know that popular droid K2SO was going to have a figure.
What is interesting is the fact that Disney Infinity artist Ian Jacobs (via Kotaku) has shared what the figure could have looked like. These cartoony figures were always the best part about Disney Infinity and K2SO definitely looks nice in this style. We can only imagine the type of adventures younger players could have had with the droid, along with favorites like Mickey Mouse and Spider-Man.
At the end of the day, it's easy to see why the toys-to-life game genre is fading away, with originator Skylanders seemingly intent on staying on top. Infinity was canceled in 2016 and Lego Dimensions also ended up losing support. Still, what could have been.
