We're only a few days away from the premiere of Star Wars: The Mandalorian on Disney+. And as we're nearing its debut, Vanity Fair just released a short trailer for the series which gives us a first look at Ming-Na Wen's character, Fennec Shand.

Speaking with Vanity Fair, Wen revealed that her character is "tricky." Fennec is graceful and agile but at the same time, she needs to be able to survive and be stealthy. Wen says her character got its inspiration from the name, and a "fennec fox came to mind."

There's no telling if she's actually on the light side or the dark side but Wen teases that Fennec is "definitely someone who's loyal to herself." She then compared her character to Han Solo, as the outlet says it, "someone who didn't start out believing in any cause but his own."

Ming-Na Wen's first appearance as Fennec was in the new trailer video provided by Vanity Fair. She is seen looking down to someone off-screen and uttered, "Your name will be legendary." You can check out the clip below.

Ming-Na Wen's Fennec will be the first major female Asian Star Wars character that is leaning to a more villainous side. The Mulan actor will be encountering Pedro Pascal's bounty hunter along the first season of the series.

Wen also revealed that she was involved with creating her look for the series. Initially, Fennec had to have her hair loose and unkempt. However, Wen thought, since she's a stealth assassin and she'll be wearing a helmet, she should have her hair similar to a "fennec fox architecture." A "braiding system" was then made by her stylist, which made her hair have triangular points that look like her ears. Besides, she has always had long flowing hair in Agents of SHIELD where she played as Agent May, so she wanted to make her character different and badass.

Fennec Shand is a very skilled fighter, Wen even described her as someone whose body is a "weapon in and of itself." She has a handful of weapons, including a big gun.
