Star War’s Anthony Daniels Says Fans Will Enjoy Episode IX Because Of C-3PO

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is going to be the very last film that Star Wars fans get to see C-3PO and according to Anthony Daniels, it's the very final Skywalker saga entry where the communications protocol droid gets a major arc in the franchise.

Daniels just recently released a new book called I Am C-3PO, a biography which details the actor's experiences on and off set of the Skywalker saga. The Star Wars actor just recently spoke in an interview with Express to help promote the biography, and during the discussion, Daniels got to talk about his role in The Rise of Skywalker. According to Daniels fans are going to love Episode IX because unlike the rest of the sequel trilogy, The Rise of Skywalker gives C-3PO a major character arc.

"I adored working on this film. I had tons of work to do and I felt so much part of it. C-3PO has a major arc," Daniels told the publication, "You are going to enjoy him because he's had very little do until now, but in this one (writer) Chris Terrio has sunk himself into the ethos of Star Wars with (director) JJ Abrams. They enjoy every character including C-3PO."

Star Wars fans certainly have a lot to look forward to in The Rise of Skywalker. The franchise's original trilogy droids have barely had anything to do in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy. Now, it looks like C-3PO's going to get the spotlight in Episode IX – though we do hope that the droid stays safe in the film.

There's been a lot of concern over the droid the past few weeks after Lucasfilm released The Rise of Skywalker's first full trailer. In the video, fans get to see C-3PO talking about how he's taking one last look at his friends, and now everyone is fearing the worst for the droid.

Let's hope C-3PO makes it out alive.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
