Star Wars Rebels Showrunner Reveals The Connection of The Converees To The Force

There's been a lot of talk about the little Converees connection with the Force lately after the little owls re-appeared in Star Wars Rebels season 3: first alongside the massive grey side Force user Bendu and later on watching Sabine train with the Darksaber in the Trials of the Darksaber episode.

However, in a new interview with ComicBook,Star Wars Rebels showrunner Dave Filoni reveals that most of the Convorees aren't anything but simple owls.

"I don't want to take away any of the magic," Filoni said with a laugh during the interview "When [Melchior] Zwyer was directing that episode and we had everything figured out and all the staging, he put some of those birds in the foreground, and I was like, 'Oh, you know every time we do that everybody thinks it means something, right?'"

"I was like, 'Well, we could leave them in there...' I think that it's just, for me, a watchfulness, and they are a continuous connection to the Force and nature. The Force exists whether the Jedi or Sith or anyone exists or not. They are practitioners of the Force, they don't have sole dominion over it," he said. "We have this owl flying around - this is the worst answer, but some of the owls are just owls. Then one of them in particular is not just a bird."

Though there's been a lot of talk that the Converees could be signs of the Force, Filoni's explanation reveals that only one of them isn't a simple bird. The only question left, is which one is it?

Star Wars Rebels airs every Saturday at 8:30 pm ET/PT on DisneyXD.
