Star Wars Rebel Villain Wants to Reprise His Role in New Live-Action Project

Star Wars Rebels may have come to an end when it aired its fourth and final season in 2017, but that doesn't mean that Lucasfilm's done exploring the stories of fan-favorite characters like Ahsoka, Sabine, and Ezra.

The past few weeks there have been rumors that Ahsoka and Sabine might appear in the second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, and while there hasn't been any word whether the Grand Inquisitor might make it into the hit Star Wars series, Rebels voice actor Jason Isaacs would love to see his character make it to Star Wars live-action.

Speaking in an interview with Collider to talk about his role in Scoob!, Jason Isaacs was asked to choose an animated role that he would want to reprise in live-action. The Star Trek actor mulled over a few characters before declaring that he wanted to return as Rebels Grand Inquisitor – mostly because of the Star Wars villain's lightsaber.

"I know who I'd be. I'd be the Inquisitor from Star Wars Rebels because he has the coolest lightsaber in the entire Star Wars universe," the actor told the entertainment news outlet.

While there hasn't been any news of Star Wars cartoon villains making it into any of Lucasfilm's new live-action projects, we have to say that it'd be interesting to see the Grand Inquisitor to make it into Star Wars' live-action universe. The primary antagonist of Rebels, the Grand Inquisitor was a terrifying villain that reported directly to Darth Vader. Having him in a new Star Wars live-action series would help stitch together the Star Wars animated universe and live-action.
