The upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series has been delayed, which resulted in a lot of fans getting their pitchforks ready, for some reason. While delays do suck, the fact that it was done so we could get a better script should be commended since some forms of media are rushed, despite having a lot of bad writing. Hopefully, this Star Wars spin-off ends up meeting our big expectations since we all know that The Rise of Skywalker didn't.
So, when will production for this series actually start? According to Ewan McGregor, the show will finally start shooting next January. That should be enough time to come up with a good script, though you never know what's going to happen. Let's just be cautiously optimistic, though some Star Wars fans will be relentless with their reactions, no matter what happens.
McGregor told ComicBook.com that the delay isn't a huge deal, saying that it happens all of the time. This is true and fans need to realize that, maybe even be a bit grateful for it. Seriously, did everyone forget how much of a mess Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was? We'll take a delayed good script over a rushed bad one any day of the week.
Very little is known about Obi-Wan Kenobi, though we do know that it's set after Revenge of the Sith and before A New Hope, just like most Star Wars spin-off media. We're also hoping that they end up adapting that one Star Wars Rebels episode where Obi-Wan fights Darth Maul but without freaking Ezra ruining everything.
No release date for Obi-Wan Kenobi has been announced.
