Star Wars: Pedro Pascal Says The Mandalorian Success Exceeded His Expectations

There is little doubt that The Mandalorian was Disney+'s biggest hit back in 2019 and the show continues to draw in more audiences with every season. However, Pedro Pascal was not confident that the Star Wars series would do as well as does right now. The former Game of Thrones actor admitted that the show's success had completely exceeded his expectations.

Pedro Pascal was announced to take on the lead role in The Mandalorian back in 2018 and the Wonder Woman 1984 star made it clear that he was eager to join the Star Wars Universe. Pascal recently told Entertainment Weekly that he immediately trusted Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni's vision.

"I think it was so easy to trust how much Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni love Star Wars and [how they're] taking that love and developing new ways of telling Star Wars stories. That's a big safety net," he said. Pascal then added that he wasn't completely sure about his character Din Djarin and the story as a whole.

"But there were things, like, will this character be compelling? Will people want to follow him through these adventures? Will the richness of this parent-child relationship really reach everyone?" he said. "So to see all of that surpass expectation is really exciting."

It's pretty obvious that although viewers were immediately drawn in by Pascal's mysterious bounty hunter and the adorable Baby Yoda. With that in mind, it only made sense that The Mandalorian was such a huge hit. With that in mind, we can't wait to see what's next in the upcoming season.

For now, The Mandalorian Season 3 has not yet been given an official release date. However, the series is already expected to return to Disney+ in February 2023. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
