For the Star Wars fans who have been hoping to see Padme Amidala in more adventures and stories, you're surely in for a treat! Author E.K. Johnston will show us another side to the Queen with her new novel.

Star Wars recently revealed that Padme is set to "strike back" in Johnston's novel titled Queen's Peril. The book serves as a prequel, following the success of Queen's Shadow earlier in the year.

The author can't give out too many details yet. But she revealed that this is the "first Star Wars book she has ever pitched," which was back in 2014. When asked about any information she could provide us with, she said, "It's Padme. It's the first round of handmaidens. It's Naboo." She hints that the Trade Federation might show up again to cause some problems, and revealed that she'd give Quarsh Panaka "gray hair."

Johnston said the reaction with Queen's Shadow "sort of" made an impact on making the prequel. However, the author pointed out that she had "a pretty good idea" of what she actually wanted to do. That being said, Johnston admits the fans' reactions about the dresses and other elements of the novel gave her "more space to play."

Judging from the back cover showing Padme's clothes and appearance, the novel seems to be set after the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. But for now, information is still kept under wraps.

Star Wars: Queen's Peril is already available for pre-order and is expected to be released on May 5, 2020.
