Star Wars: Obi-Wan Series Gets 2022 Release Window

With The Mandalorian being such a huge hit for Disney+, a lot of people are excited about other incoming Star Wars films like the ones focused on Cassian Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Though we won't get the shows anytime soon, we now have release windows for both.

According to Disney (via MCU Cosmic), Cassian Andor is now set to come out in 2021, with Obi-Wan Kenobi coming out the next year in 2022. Both shows have actually undergone significant delays, so it's kind of a relied that Disney has decided on release windows for both.

Though Star Wars is set to take a hiatus from the box office, Lucasfilm is free to be more experimental with their Disney+ shows. What I'm curious about is The Mandalorian. Jon Favreau has planned for the series to run for more than just one season, so I imagine that Season 3 could come out in 2021 as well—that is, if Disney greenlights it. For now, all we can really do is wait and see.

While I personally would have loved a movie on Obi-Wan, I'm curious what they have in store for a whole series. Though I'm sure we could follow Kenobi in his days on Tatooine, I think it would also be great to see him during the peak of the Clone Wars; and while they're at it, a live-action appearance from Hayden Christensen's Anakin won't be so bad either.

For now, the season season of The Mandalorian is set to come out on Disney+ on October.
