Star Wars: Moff Gideon Might Capture Baby Yoda in The Mandalorian Season 2

We already know that Baby Yoda is still safe with Din Djarin at the end of The Mandalorian's first season. But is it possible that Moff Gideon will eventually get his hands on The Child in the Star Wars series? Giancarlo Esposito may have revealed that the villain will capture the beloved character in The Mandalorian Season 2.

Esposito recently attended Fan Expo Vancouver where he discussed the upcoming season of his new show (via Comicbook.com). The Better Call Saul star addressed the delay in Baby Yoda merchandise, stating that the studio was probably not expecting The Child to be such a huge hit with Star Wars fans.

"Normally, I like babies… but in this case, I love this baby! Look, they made a show with Baby Yoda — I don't think they had a real idea how big this baby would be. I don't think they knew, judging from the fact there's not a lot of merchandising out there for Baby Yoda," Esposito said.

Interestingly, Esposito admitted that he is already looking forward to some scenes with The Child in the second season. "I love Baby Yoda, and I'm most excited about having some airtime with that baby," he stated.

Wait, but does that mean Gideon will get his slimy hands on Baby Yoda? Esposito confessed he's touched the puppet itself but played coy about his character actually capturing The Child.

"I have been able to get my hands on the Baby Yoda [puppet]. Let me just see, I have to just check myself to see what I can say," he said with a laugh.

Now we're a little worried about Djarin and The Child. After all, Gideon has proven to be truly relentless with his mission. Nevertheless, we're still hoping that if he gets Baby Yoda, Djarin will still manage to save his tiny companion.

The Mandalorian Season 2 is expected to air on Disney+ in October.
