Star Wars: Mark Hamill Tried To Get Prince Harry To Name Royal Baby After Him

We already know that Prince Harry and Prince William are huge Star Wars fans who almost appeared in Star Wars: The Last Jedi as two anonymous Stormtroopers. Interestingly, Mark Hamill says he tried to use the royals' love for the franchise to his advantage, claiming he tried to get Prince Harry to name his first child after Hamill.

Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle recently revealed the name of their first child as Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor (via CBS). Although most people were bemused with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's choice for the little boy's first name, Hamill was more interested in how Prince Harry decided on the second name. Take a look at his tweet below.

"Here's me with William & Harry pitching the idea of naming any future royal baby after their favorite #StarWars actor. Happy they chose Archie HARRISON Mountbatten-Windsor, but regret not being more specific. Should have pitched favorite #StarWars actor WHO PLAYED LUKE," Hamill wrote.

Of course, we're not sure if Prince Harry chose Harrison because he's a huge Han Solo fan but it's certainly a possibility. Harrison Ford has yet to comment on the royal baby's name. I'm somehow disappointed that Prince Harry didn't opt for Luke Skywalker Mountbatten-Windsor but still glad that the child has been delivered without a hitch.

The photo shared by Hamill was actually taken while the cast was filming The Last Jedi. The royals had reportedly filmed a scene for the movie but it was removed from the final cut. Meanwhile, Hamill will return as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which premieres on December 20.
