Star Wars Makes Important Revelation About Jannah and Lando Calrissian

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker might have marked the end of the Skywalker saga, however, the third and final entry in Disney's sequel trilogy also seemed to tease a brand new adventure for Lando (Billy Dee Williams) and stormtrooper defector Jannah (Naomi Ackie).

After seeing Lando approach Jannah at the end of The Rise of Skywalker offering to take the woman on a journey to know where she comes from, fans soon suspected that the former stormtrooper was actually Lando's daughter.

After all, the Visual Dictionary for Episode IX revealed that Lando's own daughter had been abducted by the First Order. Fans felt like that daughter had to be Jannah.

Unfortunately, it seems like the novelization of Episode IX debunks all of the popular fan theories about the two. In The Rise of Skywalker novel written by Rae Carson, fans get to learn that Lando actually wanted to help Jannah and other former stormtroopers by returning them to their families (via Screen Rant).

"Lando and the Lady Luck would help these special kids. Find their families, if that's what they wanted. Help them discover their new place in the galaxy. Heck, maybe he'd find his daughter. Probably not; he knew the odds. But that would be a pretty good way to spend his twilight years, right? If the kids were amenable, anyway," the book reveals.

So no, Jannah is not Lando's daughter. Or Star Wars might reveal that Jannah was Lando's daughter all along. This little tidbit from the novel could very well snowball into a new Star Wars series for Disney's brand new streaming site.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is available for streaming on Disney+.
