Star Wars: Lucasfilm Boss Offers Update on Lando Calrissian Series

Years ago, we learned that Lucasfilm is working on a Lando Calrissian series titled Lando with Donald Glover expected to reprise the role from Solo: A Star Wars Story. However, we haven't heard any updates regarding the series and a lot of fans are wondering if it's still happening at all. Now, it looks like we have an update regarding its progress.

In a recent interview with CinemaBlend during the recent Star Wars Celebration event, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy was asked about the status of Lando to which she said that there is still "no movement" in the production due to Glover's busy schedule.

"You need to ask Donald. He's the one that holds all the cards here. But there's no movement. I will say that honestly," she said. "But it's not for lack of trying. It's just that he's a very busy guy. He's got another series, and I think one other thing, and then he'll come our way. So patiently waiting."

It looks like Lando is still part of their development slate even though there hasn't been any movement since the project was announced. While the update is not promising, at least we were assured that the series is still happening in the future and Lucasfilm is still committed to developing the project as they've promised.

It's also understandable that they are waiting for Glover to free his schedule to work on the series since he is the star and the driving force in its development. Of course, the multi-hyphenated talent is currently busy in Atlanta and also working on a TV series adaptation of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. It looks like it will take a few more years before Lando comes into our screen once Glover is done with his other projects.
