Star Wars legend Mark Hamill adds the Bernie Sanders meme to one of the biggest Star Wars debates. The debates amongst the fans of Star Wars were very passionate. New debates emerge with every new addition to the franchise as the fans’ passion continues to grow.
However, one of the most intense and long-lived Star Wars debates was the showdown between Han Solo and Greedo in the Mos Eisley Cantina. Ever since the release of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope back in 1977, a lot of fans have been asking whether the smuggler or his foe shot first in the quick blaster draw that killed Greedo. With there being a blaster bolt left on the wall behind Han, it has never been clear which one pulled their trigger finger first, even if Han was the one who made it out alive. A lot of fans have gone back and forth for years in an attempt to decide which one of them fired the first shot.
Now, even Luke Skywalker has added to the debate with his own very hilarious addition. Mark Hamill has shared a fan-made edit on Twitter of Senator Bernie Sanders seated at the same table with Greedo and Han, bringing the popular meme back in 2021. The actor captioned it with, "Turns out Bernie shot first," fully connecting it to the famous Star Wars debate.

Hamill has offered several entertaining stories to Star Wars fans, especially when it comes to Han Solo played by Harrison Ford. The friendship between them has allowed Hamill to be his true comedic self wherever Ford is concerned, and this meme addition to the debate about Han vs. Greedo is no exception.

While the debate may never find its true winner, it certainly won’t be Sanders, though this addition will certainly stand out amongst the other Star Wars jokes that Hamill has contributed to the fans over the years.
