Star Wars Legend Carrie Fisher Considered Herself More of a Writer Than an Actress

Star Wars fans might always remember Carrie Fisher as the galaxy far, far away's Princess of Alderaan, however, the Star Wars legend somehow considered herself more of a writer than an actress.

C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels is releasing a new autobiography titled I am C-3PO and the Star Wars actor went on an interview with Variety to help promote his new book. During the discussion, Daniels was asked about the difficulty of working on The Rise of Skywalker without Carrie Fisher.

According to the British actor, the Star Wars family felt a lot of grief. Daniels also described what Fisher was like on set, saying that she had imposter syndrome and that she considered herself less of an actress.

"There's no doubt that the Star Wars family felt a lot of grief. She was a very nice person. You're always going to miss somebody like that. She was very self-deprecating and self-taunting," Daniels told Variety.

Fisher had a bit of trouble remembering her lines while working on Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy, so the rest of the cast and the crew on the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi had to be patient with General Organa.

"She, like many of us, had that impostor syndrome and she did say to me once, ‘I'm more of a writer than an actor.' She did find remembering the lines difficult in the end, which for a writer must have been very hard for her," Daniels explained, "But everybody on the set was really patient. We all get days when we cannot remember the lines."

Fisher was an amazing woman. Not only was she a Star Wars legend, but she was also a talented writer with vivacious wit and charm. She was also a mental health activist who championed the movement to erase the stigma against mental illness.

Fisher's Star Wars character, Leia, is set to appear in The Rise of Skywalker this December. It will be the Resistance General's last appearance on the big screen.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
