Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Might Have Limb Dismemberment After All

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is coming out on the same day as Pokemon Sword and Shield, which is a bit odd but you could argue that they have different audiences. Anyway, fans were excited to see a new single-player Star Wars game that lets them play as a Jedi but there was some disappointment over the fact that there wouldn't be frequent limb tearing from your lightsaber.

It turns out that there will actually be some limb tearing in the game, just not during the main gameplay. During an interview with The Verge, Respawn narrative lead Aaron Contreras has said that LucasFilm will only allow limb decapitation during climactic moments in the story. So, players hoping to make mincemeat out of stormtroopers might be sad but they could see Cal Kestis lose a hand in a cutscene.

Here's what Contreras had to say about the lack of gore in Jedi: Fallen Order:

"So, with Jedi: Fallen Order we've really followed the authentic Star Wars / Lucasfilm realization of dismemberment. Which is that it happens in big story moments occasionally, but you don't see it happening constantly to sentient people."

Contreras did tell fans that droids and creatures would get their limbs dismembered but that won't be happening with stormtroopers. That's a bit disappointing but you do want to keep this game T for teens. We probably won't get an M rated Star Wars game anytime soon unless they plan on making more Knights of the Old Republic games.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order comes out on PS4 and Xbox One on November 15.
