Star Wars: Latest Book of Boba Fett Trailer Suggests Filling In Major Gap In Star Wars Canon

The newest trailer of The Book of Boba Fett hints that the upcoming series of Disney+ will fill in a major gap in the canon timeline of Star Wars. The first few trailers of The Book of Boba Fett showed mostly the story of Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) as well as Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) trying to take over Jabba The Hutt’s empire, after the fall of the Empire and the events that happened in The Mandalorian. However, this latest trailer that was released is more focused on framing Boba Fett’s journey to the underworld throne, with some hints that might show how he escaped death after Return of the Jedi.

In the first part of Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi, it looked like Boba Fett died in the battle to free Han Solo from Jabba. Because of Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett went into the Sarlacc Pit and looked like he was eaten by the sand monster.

How Boba Fett was able to escape the Sarlacc Pit has become a legend in Star Wars since a lot of fans started creating their own theories in the ‘80s, after the release of Return of the Jedi. The non-canon expanded universe of Star Wars was the first one to reveal Boba Fett’s survival; that version of Boba went on to be captured by Jawas, and temporarily lost his memory; he also became a Mandalorian leader who helped the Republic in a war against invading aliens; he also trained the daughter of Han Solo to kill her twin brother, who had joined the Sith. Disney’s newest Star Wars canon has paved over all of Boba Fett’s rich history.

The Book of Boba Fett, starring Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett and Ming-na Wen as Fennec Shand, will be released starting on December 29, 2021 exclusively on Disney+.
