Star Wars: Jon Favreau Teases Taika Waititi's 'The Mandalorian' Role

The Mandalorian will be the first Star Wars show coming to Disney+ and we still don't know anything about it, aside from it's setting and place in the timeline. We do know that some talented people will be working on the show, including What We Do in the Shadows and Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi.

Well, knowing Waititi, he will probably have a starring role in his episode and Jon Favreau has shared a photo of the director voicing a droid who looks a lot like IG-88 from The Empire Strikes Back. While it could be a different droid, fans of the old-school Star Wars films (or Star Wars in general) would love to see an obscure character like IG-88 get some love, especially if Waititi is voicing him.

Fans will remember how great Waititi was when he voiced Korg for Thor: Ragnarok and the talented director has also lent his acting talents to other films, like the aforementioned What We Do in the Shadows and the poorly-received Green Lantern movie. That film aside, Waititi is a talented actor and we can't wait to see him in The Mandalorian.

The Mandalorian will be coming out sometime this year on the Disney+ streaming service.
