Star Wars: Jon Favreau Returning as Showrunner for The Mandalorian 2

Besides the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker by the end of the year, everyone is excited to see what's in store for Disney+'s The Mandalorian. Jon Favreau is currently attached as showrunner for the first live-action Star Wars series, and it looks like he'll be back for more.

DiscussingFilm says that their sources have confirmed that Favreau is coming back as showrunner for The Mandalorian 2. While we don't have any official confirmation that the show has been renewed yet, it's been floating around that Disney is incredibly pleased with the series and is ready to give audiences more.

Interestingly enough, it looks like Mandalorian is one of the only ‘regular' shows coming to Disney+ for now. With miniseries being announced for both Marvel and Star Wars properties, it looks like Mandalorian is one of the only few that will actually go on for more than one season. Let's just hope that everyone loves it when it comes out in November.

Some footage was actually screened during Star Wars Celebration 2019 last month, but nothing public has been officially released by Lucasfilm. Based on leaked videos though, the show looks fantastic, and hopefully it will have the same aesthetics as that of the films. If this goes on, I would actually be looking forward to an Obi-Wan or Solo miniseries if Lucasfilm really is thinking about scrapping the films.

Catch The Mandalorian when it debuts on Disney+ this coming Nov. 12.
