Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is More Influenced by Metroid than Uncharted

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the only EA game that people care about right now, thanks to a solid trailer that had some cool gameplay. Granted, it looked more choreographed than a high school play, but it did tease fans with some cool possibilities and we can't wait to play it. From everything we've seen thus far, it looks like a fun, linear action game similar to the Uncharted series.

However, according to Giant Bomb, the game is not as linear as it seems. In fact, Giant Bomb's Brad Shoemaker revealed that the single-player Star Wars game is more like a Metroid title, with hints of Dark Soul in there.

Apparently, players are allowed to choose which planet to tackle early on and they can obtain a number of upgrades and abilities while exploring. It wouldn't be too surprising to know that some areas will require backtracking if need be since players will likely need to power up their Jedi to reach secret locations. Which is very Metroid-like.

Why EA and ReSpawn decided to hide this fact is beyond me since this would have sold a lot of people on the game. It's currently getting a mixed reception but this would have changed people's minds, just like Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics' Avengers game. Hopefully, we see more of this before the game comes out.

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is coming out on November 15 for PS4 and Xbox One.
