The last five years have been extremely crucial for the Star Wars franchise mainly because of the negative feedback Disney's divisive sequel trilogy has garnered. However, despite the bold assumption from some fans and critics that Star Wars is a dying brand (pre-Mandalorian), the beloved science-fiction franchise is undoubtedly still killing it in the video game side of things.

2019's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is regarded by many as one of the best Star Wars video game titles in recent memory and while its follow-up hasn't been formally announced yet, it's safe to assume that the folks over at Electronic Arts are already working on it. In fact, the game's co-developer Respawn seems to be teasing that we could finally be getting Fallen Order 2 in the near future.

In a recent tweet, Respawn's Pete Stewart announced that the company is currently on the lookout for a Senior Game Writer that will be working with their Star Wars team. Naturally, this new job opening fueled speculation that the long-awaited Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel could soon be arriving.

However, despite the possibility of us getting a new Fallen Order game, some fans aren't that thrilled with the idea. You see, the thing is, fans of the Star Wars franchise have collectively expressed their desire to see EA develop a game based on The Mandalorian, and considering it's been almost two years since the first season premiered, it would have made a lot of sense for a tie-in game to be created by now but as it stands, it doesn't look like it's actually happening anytime soon.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is playable on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Google Stadia, and Microsoft Windows.
