One of the new Star Wars movies that are currently in the works is the untitled Jedi Order movie which will bring back Daisy Ridley as Rey and it will be set 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker.

So far, the exact plot details remain scarce except that Rey will be mentoring a new generation of Jedis. Ms. Marvel director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is attached to helm the film from a screenplay from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.

It is also unknown yet whether the other characters in the sequel trilogy will also show up in the new film or it will mostly center on newly-introduced characters that will go alongside Rey.

Now, we have another alleged casting update about the film and it looks like they may have found an actor who can play the villain.

A recent scoop from insider MyTimeToShineHello claimed that The Suicide Squad and Thor star Idris Elba is being eyed to play the villain in Rey's Jedi Order movie that is rumored for release in 2025.

There are no details regarding the character that he will play or how he is going to be a foil in Rey's attempt to rebuild the Jedi Order.

It should also be pointed out that the scoop has not been confirmed yet by Lucasfilm nor it was reported by the major trades so we have to take it with a grain of salt.

There is also the likelihood that Elba might not end up getting the villain role as the negotiations are allegedly ongoing and we might hear a different name instead who will play the antagonist once the details become official.

If Elba does end up getting the role, he is certainly an exciting choice since he is a talented actor and we know from his past roles that he is very capable of playing a villain. He also has a lot of experience in being part of a tentpole movie and is proven to be a great movie star as well.

For now, let's wait and see whether this scoop ends up being true and it might take a while before we hear any confirmation since the current Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike has halted a lot of projects across Hollywood.
