A lot of Star Wars fans were hoping to see some familiar faces in Obi-Wan Kenobi and while the first five episodes failed to deliver, it turns out that Lucasfilm was setting up something grand for the finale. In fact, two beloved characters from the franchise showed up during the satisfying "conclusion" (Season 2 rumors, remember) of the hit Disney+ series.

Episode VI featured the jaw-dropping returns of Darth Sidious and Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn who appeared in his Force Ghost from. No offense to the great Ian McDiarmid but the cameo that had everyone buzzing was Liam Neeson's and for good reason. The Hollywood icon only made a single appearance in the prequel trilogy via The Phantom Menace and for years, fans were hopeful that Qui-Gon would somehow make his return.

He did technically make a cameo in 2019's The Rise of Skywalker, voicing the iconic character but surely, nothing beats seeing the actor in the flesh. Neeson previously expressed his desire to return to Star Wars (via ComicBook) but only if it was a big-screen project. Well, it turns out that the Taken actor lied to us all.

Obviously, the level of secrecy surrounding these projects forced the actor to trick fans into believing that he won't appear in a television series. Now, while it's still a little too early to say, Qui-Gonn's triumphant return seems to set up the events for the second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

All episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are available for streaming on Disney+.
