The upcoming reboot of Fantastic Four is still shrouded in mystery and despite the confirmation that it will be included in the slate of films for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's sixth phase, key details about the anticipated arrival of the First Family have not been disclosed.

As D23 Expo 2022 approaches, there has been numerous speculation online that Kevin Feige and company will finally be unveiling the reboot's cast with names like Penn Badgley, Jodie Comer, and Lily James being the rumored frontrunners to play lead roles in the reboot. Now, a new rumor claims that an acting legend could finally be making his MCU debut.

According to a new scoop from the folks over at Giant Freakin Robot, Star Wars icon Harrison Ford is reportedly being courted by the studio for a mystery role in the film. While their source didn't say which character he could be playing, the outlet speculates that the Han Solo actor could be playing Franklin Storm, the father of Sue (Invisible Woman) and Johnny Storm (Human Torch).

It's worth noting that Ford who is currently working on the fifth and final Indiana Jones film is said to be retiring from acting and that news came from none other than the film's composer John Williams who also happens to be good friends with the Hollywood legend in real life. Of course, we've yet to hear from the horse's mouth so it's hard to jump to conclusions right away.

As for the chances of him actually joining the MCU, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four is slated to hit cinemas on November 8, 2024.
