Star Wars: Here's How Han Solo Prevented Kylo Ren From Falling into The Dark Side

We are learning more about Ben Solo in Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren and the new comic series is slowly revealing that the young Jedi wasn't as bad as we originally thought. For instance, the third issue has revealed that Ben didn't actually burn down Luke Skywalker's Jedi temple or murder the other students. However, it looks like the first clue to Ben not falling into the Dark Side was actually revealed in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Interestingly, it was Han Solo who prevented that from happening.

In The Rise of Kylo Ren #3, it was confirmed that everyone, including Luke himself, was wrong about the destruction of the Jedi Temple. Although it was believed that Ben was the one who destroyed the temple and kill all the students, the issue revealed that Palpatine had been the real culprit. Ben had only taken the blame because he was so guilt-stricken over causing what he thought was the death of his uncle and fellow students.

But is this the only clue that Ben hasn't fallen into the Dark Side? Interestingly, the first and less obvious clue can be found in The Force Awakens. When Han confronted Kylo, his son had every intention to kill his father to complete his initiation into the Dark Side. As confirmed by Screenrant, Palpatine had wanted Kylo to kill Han as "an act of unspeakable evil."

However, Han tainted the ritual by willingly accepting his own death. The ritual called for an unwilling victim but Han ultimately sacrificed himself to give his son some peace of mind. With that simple but powerful act, Han ensured that Ben would never fall into the Dark Side.

Do you think Han was the one person who truly saved Ben from falling into the Dark Side? Sound off in the comments below.
