Star Wars Gets Wild Crossover With Indiana Jones in a Lightsaber Duel with Vader

Indiana Jones and Star Wars might come from the creative mind of George Lucas, however the two film franchises couldn't be any more different. Set in a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars is a space opera spanning multiple generations. Meanwhile, Indiana Jones is an adventure franchise following the different escapades of a certain Dr. Henry "Indiana" Jones.

Knowing how different the two are from each other, we understand the surprise when fans get to see a short video teaser of a Star Wars x Indiana Jones mashup over at Hollywood Studios. The crossover was performed for one night only in 2010 at an afterhours party at Disney's studio, and somehow, a video of the epic performance has made its way online today.

It's a thrilling mashup. In the video, fans get to see Indie wielding a blue lightsaber as he battles with Darth Vader in what seems to be a military encampment. Vader clearly has the upper hand, and just when you think that things couldn't get stranger, stormtroopers come running out of nowhere to help everyone's favorite Sith Lord.

You can check out the teaser video down below:

The video is a total romp – a crossover out of Star Wars and Indiana Jones dreams. We wonder if we'll ever get to see a crossover like this make its way to Star Wars, even as a parody movie or series. Think about it – Lucasfilm releasing a fun animated Star Wars series that crosses over with major franchises like Indiana Jones and Marvel. Wouldn't that be neat?

The Skywalker saga is available for streaming on Disney+.
