Star Wars Gets Vader Immortal Teaser For The New Year

Star Wars fans might have been heavily disappointed by the apparent lack of trailer teaser for Star Wars: Episode IX during the holiday season, but Lucasfilm has been trying to make up for the lacuna by releasing videos for its upcoming Star Wars theme park and now for its upcoming Star Wars VR game, the highly anticipated Vader Immortal.

Taking to twitter ILMxLAB decided to celebrate the arrival of the New Year by dropping a brand new teaser for its upcoming Vader Immortal title, a VR game which is set to launch on Oculus Quest later this year.

"New Year. New opportunity to cheat death. Prepare for his arrival," the video teases.

ILMXLab first announced the game back in 2016 with David S. Goyer still attached to the project. The game which will come in three parts begins with Vader Immortal: Episode I, a game which is going to send players to the events between Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. The game will focus on Vader's adventures between the two films as it drops gamers out of hyperspace near Mustafar, the Star Wars baddy's very own planet.

"When we looked at all the characters, places, and worlds in the Star Wars universe available to us, we asked ourselves, ‘What haven't we seen before? Who are we curious about?" said Goyer. "Darth Vader is the perfect ambassador to usher us into the Star Wars VR universe."

Vader Immortal is going to be an exciting first-person experience, one that will hopefully add a bit of respite while everyone waits for Episode IX.

Vader Immortal: Episode I is set to launch sometime in 2019.
