Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 4 finally brought back most of Clone Force 99 (sorry, Hunter and Echo fans) and we got another action-packed episode featuring Tech, Wrecker, and Omega. But amidst the serious and decidedly grim landscape of Safa Toma, there was an unexpected moment that reminded us of the Plastics. Needless to say, fans can't believe how Faster just delivered a surprise moment seemingly inspired by Mean Girls.
In Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 4, Cid takes Tech, Wrecker, and Omega to the desert planet of Safa Toma to check on her racer in Riot Racing. Although TAY-0 wins the first race, Cid is immediately coerced to bet on the next race by an old contact Grini Millegi who also has a racer.
Since racing is rarely fair, it's no surprise that Millegi's racer Jet Venim cheats to ensure the win and damages TAY-0 in the process. Tech manages to fix the droid up but on the day of the next race, TAY-0 is promptly run over on the tracks, putting him out of commission for good.
It's a shocking moment but also a surprisingly hilarious one because of its similarity to a key scene in Mean Girls. After Janis Ian reveals that Cady Heron was part of her plan to destroy Regina George, Regina storms out of the gym. When Cady goes after her, Regina stops to insult Cady and gets struck by a school bus.
Needless to say, people can't stop talking about the Mean Girls moment in The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 4.
We can all agree that the episode is so fetch and we finally got confirmation that Tech is not just a regular Clone, he's a cool Clone. We're just hoping that TAY-0 only fractured his spine and that he will be up and running for the Spring Fling next race.
