Star Wars Fans React To Ewan McGregor Returning In Obi-Wan Kenobi Series

In case you were worried about Ewan McGregor now that he is trending on social media, you can rest assured that the Birds Of Prey star is doing quite well. He's doing so well that he has reportedly signed on to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a planned Star Wars series that will air on Disney+.

Although the news about McGregor was initially reported as mere rumor, it has since been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter that he is currently in negotiations to return as the Jedi Master. Not surprisingly, fans are loving the announcement and there is no shortage of celebratory posts on Twitter.

Some were quick to point out that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series could be the sole reason why they would subscribe to the streaming service.

Others yet were just happy to know that their hopes have finally been heard by Disney.

There were speculations that Obi-Wan would be the focus of one of the Star Wars anthology films along with Rogue One and Solo. Unfortunately, that plan was never realized.

In 2018, there were rumors that an Obi-Wan series was being planned although it was not immediately confirmed. Luckily, with McGregor now in talks to join the series, it's safe to say that the show is more than just wishful thinking for fans.

McGregor played Obi-Wan in the Star Wars prequels. His voice was also featured in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

We'll have to wait for more details on the Obi-Wan series. In the meantime, McGregor's latest projects include the adaptation of Stephen King's Doctor Sleep and the DC flick Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).
