Star Wars Fans Appalled By Lack Of Rose Tico Episode IX Merch

Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) might have been set to return in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker after saving Finn (John Boyega) in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but it seems like there's been barely any sign of the Resistance mechanic in Lucasfilm's merchandise for the film.

Sure, Rose has been popping up every now and then in new promotional material for Episode IX, but banners and posters aren't really enough for Star Wars fans looking for actual merchandise of the hero.

Vanity Fair just recently wrote an article about the appalling lack of Rose Tico toys, shirts, and other merchandise during this month's Triple Force Friday, telling to story of a Star Wars fan who was on the hunt to find items featuring her favorite character.

"Sirikul found herself asking a question that has since become a hashtag on social media: #WheresRose?" the entertainment news outlet wrote.

Preview videos that were released back in September to hype up the merchandise for this year's Triple Force Friday event showcased a white T-shirt with the word "Rebel" serving as a backdrop for Rose while she put on a pose.

According to Siriukul, she found the Rebel shirt at the Disney store when she went out to look for Star Wars merch, but Rose Tico wasn't on it like promised.

This isn't the only case. Shirts, posters, and images that were teased in preview videos have also been removed from Rose, sparking outrage from fans. So where exactly is Rose? Is Lucasfilm afraid that her presence will spoil the film? Or is the studio responding to the initial backlash against the character by more traditional Star Wars fans?

We Lucasfilm and Disney start releasing Rose Tico merchandise soon!
