Star Wars: Episode VIII - Tom Hardy May Play A First Order Stormtrooper

Warning: Though the Star Wars rumor hasn't been confirmed, it's possible the following info may contain spoilers from Episode VIII.

The Mad Max: Fury Road and The Revenant star Tom Hardy is rumored to have a small cameo in Star Wars: Episode VIII.

Making Star Wars reports that Hardy will play a First Order stormtrooper in the movie. Hardy's stormtrooper reportedly runs into Fin, who is on a secret mission. The report says that Hardy walks behind him and slaps Finn "on the ass", and recognizes him from training, then lets him go in comedic understanding. The site says that the scene reveals how most of the stormtroopers that knew FN-2187 perished at the battle of Starkiller Base in The Force Awakens. Tom Hardy's stormtrooper will most likely not remove his helmet. Here are the exact details from the site:

> Tom Hardy plays a First Order stormtrooper.
> Said stormtrooper glimpses FN-2187 on a secret mission but doesn't realize it.
> The "incognito" FN-2187 is surprised when the stormtrooper walks up behind him and slaps him on the ass.
> FN-2187 turns around and believes he's dead. He's surely going to be captured.
> The stormtrooper is elated to see his old friend from back during their First Order academy days.
> The stormtrooper congratulates FN-2187 on his promotion to Resistance infiltrator and spy.
> FN-2187 is free to go about his business to his amazement.

It sounds like Hardy's cameo will be in the same comedic spirit as Daniel Craig's in The Force Awakens.

This isn't the first time a rumor about Hardy's involvement in Episode VIII was reported. Earlier this week, another rumor surfaced claiming that Hardy will play Boba Fett, but neither rumors have been officially confirmed.

Star Wars: Episode VIII is set to release in theaters on December 15, 2017.
