Star Wars: Episode IX Title Might Have Been Already Said By Luke Skywalker

Star Wars: Episode IX is still more or less a year away from its release and Lucasfilm's been keeping a pretty tight hold on the film's secrets, including its official title. Of course, Star Wars fans have been pretty busy guessing what the name of the third and final installment in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy might actually be. Now, the latest theory pins the title on a line from Episode IX's predecessor, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

A Redditor's been going through important scenes in The Last Jedi to look for clues on the official title for Episode IX and according to the Star Wars fan, this particular scene shared between Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) might actually fit the bill.

During the climactic battle between the Jedi Master and his Nephew, the estranged son of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Leia (the late Carrie Fisher) shouts out that he'll kill his uncle, the very last Jedi.

"Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong. The Rebellion is reborn today. The war is just beginning. And I will not be the last Jedi," Luke responds to his very angry nephew.

The key phrase that would fit as Episode IX's title? The Rebellion Reborn.

Lucasfilm might have something else in mind, but really, The Rebellion Reborn would be a perfect fit as a title for Episode IX. After all, the Resistance would need some time to rebuild after struggling to survive in The Last Jedi.

What do you think of The Rebellion Reborn? Do you have any other guesses for the title for Episode IX? Feel free to share them in the comment section below.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres on December 20, 2019.
