Snoke (Andy Serkis) might have been built up to be the big bad of Lucasfilm's Star Wars sequel trilogy by Star Wars: The Force Awakens, however, before fans could actually witness the full strength of the First Order's Supreme Leader, Kylo Ren's (Adam Driver) master was killed during the second act of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
While many fans expect Star Wars: Episode IX to help flesh out Snoke and give a deeper background to the Dark Side Force-user, this new fan theory suggests that there might not actually be a Supreme Leader Snoke at all.
According to a post by Reddit user YAFilms, Snoke might just actually be a Force projection from the subconscious mind of the former apprentice, Kylo Ren.
It might sound like a pretty wild theory, but according to the Star Wars fan, the estranged Ben Solo might have had so much power in him, he could have created a "Supreme Leader Snoke" as a dark alter ego – a manifestation of his obsession with his grandfather, Darth Vader. Snoke was Ben's crutch, and when the wayward son of Han (Harrison Ford) and Leia (Carrie Fisher) finally realized he no longer needed an imaginary master to put him in a box, he killed this papery alter ego in The Last Jedi.
While this theory seems highly unlikely, it would certainly be an interesting twist for Star Wars fans, one that would add another layer to the franchise. With Kylo Ren and his alter ego, Snoke, the Star Wars franchise would be able to tackle trauma and mental health, specifically dissociative identity disorder (also known as multiple personality disorder).
