Star Wars: Episode IX Reportedly Featuring A Revenge Of The Sith Betrayal

Lucasfilm might be trying its best to keep Star Wars: Episode IX's secrets from leaking out online, but with the film currently in production, rumors constantly manage to seep out onto the internet.

One of the most recent rumors to make their way online says that Episode IX might be taking a few pointers from the third Star Wars prequel trilogy movie, Revenge of the Sith.

According to Express, word has it that Star Wars fans might see Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) looking for a traitor within the First Order in Episode IX the same way Revenge of the Sith had the Jedi on the lookout for a traitor within the Republic pulling the strings behind the Clone Wars.

The big question: Who's going to be Episode IX's traitor?

General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson). Hux and Kylo Ren have always been at odds with one another competing for the attention of Supreme Leader Snoke during the events of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. In fact, Hux even considered killing Kylo Ren during the second arc of the second sequel trilogy installment.

However, now that Snoke's dead and gone, Kylo Ren reigns supreme, and word has it that this is going to turn Hux against the First Order. Going behind the organization in Episode IX, Hux now serves as an informant to the Resistance, leaking out vital information about the First Order's missions.

Of course, while it seems very likely that we might get to see Hux helping the resistance in Episode IX, fans have to be reminded to take the report with a grain of salt. After all, rumors are rumors until they're confirmed. Let's just wait and see what happens.

Star Wars: Episode IX hits cinemas on December 20, 2019.
