Star Wars: Episode IX Is Going To See The Return Of Another Familiar Face

Star Wars fans might not get to see Luke make his way back to Star Wars: Episode IX, but it looks like they might get to get to see a familiar face from Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the third and final chapter of Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy.

Though he didn't give any sort of confirmation when he spoke with Yahoo! News, The Force Awakens actor Greg Grunberg gave out some pretty strong hints that he'd be reprising his role as Resistance X-wing pilot Temmin "Snap" Wesley in Episode IX.

"You know what — we'd better [return] or else my wife is going to kill me for growing a beard," Grunberg said, talking about the beard that he had to have for The Force Awakens. "I can't officially say anything, but this is getting itchy, and I'm getting itchy to go over there and do it."

Star Wars fans may not have gotten to see Snap Wesley in The Last Jedi, but now that J.J. Abrams is working on the final chapter of the sequel trilogy, it looks like the director's bringing one of the Resistance's ace pilots with him. Though Lucasfilm will definitely try to keep mum about its plans for Episode IX before its release, the film is expected to begin production soon and fans are probably going to see a few set photos make their way online too.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres on December 20, 2019.
