Star Wars: Domhnall Gleeson Wants General Hux Return in Future Project

The Skywalker Saga might be over but some of the characters who appeared in the Star Wars movies have been returning in new projects. For instance, Ewan McGregor recently reprised his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in his solo Disney+ series. So what are the chances that those who were in the sequel trilogy will be back? Domhnall Gleeson says he would like to return as General Armitage Hux in the future!

Domhnall Gleeson recently spoke to TheWrap where he admitted that he wants to continue playing General Hux since he feels that there is still so much to do with the character.

"Of course I would! He was really interesting, and I think there's a lot I could do more [with him]," Gleeson stated. However, the former Harry Potter was also quick to point out that he isn't expecting Hux's return to happen soon.

"I don't see them making the call. I'm not sure anybody's clamoring for a Hux sequel or prequel. But yeah, of course. Those movies are amazing," Gleeson said.

There's another reason why General Hux is unlikely to return right away. In Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the character had been executed for treason by Allegiant General Enric Pryde for supplying the Resistance with intel on the First Order.

Still, there is much to explore about Hux's story. For instance, it wasn't revealed when he began working as a double agent for the Resistance. In addition, the reason for his betrayal of the First Order was never truly revealed. With that in mind, there's still a chance we could learn more about Hux in the future. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Domhnall Gleeson's latest series The Patient premiered on FX on Hulu on August 30, 2022.
