Star Wars: Deleted Scene Teased With The Rogue One Comic Adaptation

Just like the The Force Awakens before it, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will also be receiving its own comic adaptation, and Marvel Comics is set to have the series run for about six issues. The comic will retrace Jyn Erso's adventure as she tries to retrieve the Death Star plans with her team, and eventually help save he Rebellion.

Marvel Comics (via ComicBook.com) has released some artwork for the series, and the panels were illustrated by Emilio Laiso and Oscar Bazaldua. Some of the sample art features Jyn's rescue from Wobani as well as her recruitment meeting with Mon Mothma.

What's also interesting is that the comic features some scenes with Saw Gerrera and young Jyn Erso. No doubt, the scene was probably deleted from the final cut of the movie, but it would be nice to see the story expanded a bit with the comic. Even the Force Awakens comic had a panel where Captain Phasma was dumped in the trash compactor.

The Rogue One comic is set to release its first issue this April 5, and it will run for about 5 more issues after that — depending if the series doesn't get anymore delays.
