The current Darth Vader comic book series has been uniting the events of the Star Wars original trilogy with the prequel trilogy, showing the Sith Lord's journey as he seeks revenge to those who hid his son from him. As he tries to discover more about his wife's death, the latest issue sees Vader come across some familiar faces.

SPOILERS FOR STAR WARS: DARTH VADER #4 BELOW

Taking place after the events of The Empire Strikes Back, Vader's journey in seeking answers for Padmé's death already saw him reunite with former handmaiden Sabé. Upon his arrival on Naboo, Vader confronts Ric Olié, who fans might recognize as the pilot who showed young Anakin the Queen's starship in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

As expected, this reunion is not a welcome one and would not go well, with Olié standing between Vader and Padmé's tomb. That said, it is interesting to know what the character has been up to since fans last saw him.

Alongside Olié and Sabé, Vader also came across the other handmaidens, ready to defend Padmé's place of rest, having pledged their lives to its protection since the Queen's death. There's also a couple of Gungans featured in the sequence. Meeting these handmaidens was a surprise and likely wouldn't end well, igniting some emotions in Vader to last out against those who resembles his wife.

The Darth Vader comic series gets much more intense as the issues go along, and it surely wouldn't come as a surprise if the Sith Lord crosses paths with more prequel trilogy characters in the future.

Star Wars: Darth Vader #4 is on sale now.
