Daisy Ridley's surprising return to the Star Wars franchise generated a massive buzz heard across galaxies. Following her career-making performance in the sequel trilogy, the Rey Skywalker actress is once again poised to headline her own film.

At last month's Star Wars Celebration in London, it was officially announced that Ridley will star in Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's film, a project that previously involved writers Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson.

The film, dubbed by fans as "Episode X" will take place 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. It will see Rey form a new Jedi Order with the help of the teachings imparted to her by her mentor Luke Skywalker.

Now, in case you were wondering when cameras will begin rolling for the anticipated project (which is reportedly eyeing a 2025 release window), it looks like it won't happen anytime soon.

Turns out, Daisy landed a role in Martin Campbell's Cleaner (via ScreenRant) which is described as a Die Hard-style thriller. The film is slated to shoot this summer and while we don't have an exact timetable for its entire production, it would be safe to assume that Daisy will be tied to the project for the next couple of months.

Daisy prioritizing another project over her Star Wars comeback might raise concern within Lucasfilm, similar to how Pedro Pascal's involvement in The Last of Us became quite troublesome for the creators of The Mandalorian.

But on a positive note, her packed schedule gives Lucasfilm an ample amount of time to perfect the next Star Wars film's script.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's Star Wars film is expected to hit cinemas sometime in 2025.
