The Star Wars sequel trilogy has been a massive roller coaster ride for actress Daisy Ridley and while the final film in the Skywalker saga was met with mixed reviews, the general belief within the fandom is that it's already a closed book that will never be reopened. Still, there are a lot of fans who would love to see the actress return to the franchise and actually redeem herself.

There have been major rumblings that have been making the rounds all over social media about Rey making her Star Wars return in a future project. As it stands, nothing has been officially confirmed yet and it doesn't look like Lucasfilm is developing the future of the franchise especially now that they're busy with the MandoVerse.

However, Ridley shared an interesting bit that may fuel new speculation about her potential return to the galaxy far, far away. In a recent feature on Grazia, the British actress recalled feeling so emotional after The Rise of Skywalker came out, officially concluding the Skywalker saga. She also revealed that she's been keeping in touch with her co-actors like John Boyega and Jodie Comer who portrayed Rey's mother in Episode IX.

Intriguingly, the Rey actress also shared that she recently met and had breakfast with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. Now, she didn't go into detail about their mini-reunion but one would assume that they may have talked about Star Wars, right?

Daisy said: "My god I was so sad. I spent a lot of time crying, I really felt like I was grieving something. They were my people for so many years! John [Boyega] and I met when we were both twenty-one, we were so young. We started this thing together in our early twenties and now I'm twenty-nine. But we all keep in touch, even though John is the busiest man in the world. I went for breakfast with Kathy Kennedy the other day which was so nice. Jodie [Comer] and I text all the time. It was such a wonderful experience."

The idea of Rey coming back to the franchise seems very plausible. After all, her journey as a "Skywalker" is only getting started, and with rumors of a tenth Star Wars film in the works that will reportedly follow the events of the sequel trilogy, it wouldn't come as a surprise if Rey gets involved. Not a lot of people may be down with the idea but personally, I'd like to see Daisy get the redemption story her character truly deserves. I guess only time will tell.
