Star Wars Composer John Williams’ Best Guess On Who Rey's Father Is

John Williams may have scored every other Star Wars film that has come out so far, but that doesn't mean the Oscar-winning composer is privy to the best-kept secrets in the franchise, and that includes Rey's parentage. Even so, it doesn't necessarily mean that Williams have thought about Rey's parents, particularly her father. The 84-year-old has a guess that is as good as everyone else's.

According to Indie Revolver, when asked during a performance with the Boston Pops on Thursday about his best guess, Williams said:

I never asked J.J. Abrams who Rey's father is, but I think it's Luke Skywalker. Your guess is as good as mine, though.

There have been abundant theories about Rey's parentage or origins, ranging from the possible to the ridiculous. It includes, most commonly, Williams' guess, which is that Rey is Luke's daughter. Other theories claim that Rey is Obi-Wan Kenobi's daughter, or she is the daughter of Rogue One lead Jyn Erso, while another theory claims her to be Han and Leia's daughter.

The more crazy theories include Rey being a reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker, Rey being a descendant of Palpatine, and the craziest of all is that she is allegedly a product of incest, being Luke and Leia's daughter.

While there are those who have tried to prove her origin, there are some who disprove those theories, even using genetics to debunk those theories.

Meanwhile, Williams was also asked in the interview whether he'll return to the franchise to score Star Wars: Episode VIII. The composer gave nothing conclusive. However, the report said that while Williams stated how he wasn't sure he can score another film, he did say he doesn't want anyone else scoring Rey's music. That could only mean he'll score for Episode VIII,at least for Rey's music.
