Star Wars Clone Wars Coming to SDCC 2018 to Celebrate 10-Year Anniversary

Star Wars: The Clone Wars was a series that ran from 2008–2015, and though it didn't really finish properly, a lot of fans still enjoy what the series brought to canon. With the show celebrating its 10-Year anniversary, StarWars.com has announced that Clone Wars is holding a panel at SDCC 2018.

The panel will include Clone Wars and Rebels creator Dave Filoni, and will also have special guests that have not been announced. The panel will be held on Thursday, July 19, 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in room 6BCF.

Though I am excited to see more Clone Wars material, I'm hoping that Filoni would give us a look at this year's upcoming Star Wars series, Star Wars Resistance. Resistance is said to be taking place years before The Force Awakens, and will follow a young pilot as they investigate the rise of the First Order. The series is also said to have guest appearances from film actors like Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma) and Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron).

In the summer of 2008, Star Wars: The Clone Wars made its debut, following young Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano and her master Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars — along with clones, Sith, senators, Jedi, and more heroes and villains of a galaxy far, far away. The show was created and executive produced by George Lucas and shepherded by Filoni, further exploring the characters of the films, while introducing some major new ones. Running for six seasons, Star Wars: The Clone Wars became an Emmy winner and a generation's entry point into the saga, and changed Star Wars forever.

Catch the Clone Wars SDCC panel on July 19.
