Star Wars: New SDCC Exclusive Cover for Thrawn Book Features Anakin Skywalker

Timothy Zhan is working on a new Thrawn book called Thrawn: Alliances, and it will have the famous grand admiral working together with the Emperor's right hand, Darth Vader. What cool is, Thrawn had run into Vader before, and a new exclusive cover has been revealed featuring Anakin Skywalker in his Clone Wars armor.

As it turns out, Anakin had run into Thrawn while Thrawn was still a commander of the Chiss Ascendency. We don't know much yet about their entire encounter, but it's revealed that Thrawn's full name is actually "Mitth'raw'nuruodo."

You can also read an excerpt of Thrawn's first meeting with Anakin here.

Like I said before, this cover will be an SDCC 2018 exclusive, and you'll have to get it over there if you want to have it on your shelf. Then again, I imagine some people will just buy the book there and sell it for a heftier price online—such is the case with several con exclusives.

If you're also curious, here's the standard cover that features Thrawn and Darth Vader:

The book is set for a release the summer of 2018, but we still have no specific release date. Most likely it will be available before the exclusives start getting sold at SDCC.

You can pre-order Thrawn: Alliances here.
