Star Wars: Chewbacca Actor Reveals Why Interviews are Difficult for Tall Actors

There is little doubt that it was Joonas Suotamo's height that got him the job to play Chewbacca in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Although being a tall celebrity has its perks, the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor also confirmed that it has its downsides. For instance, it's not easy to do an interview when you're more than a head taller than the person asking questions.

Suotamo recently tweeted a photo of himself with a couple of interviewers, revealing the other side of his interviews. Take a look at his post below.

"When you have to work really hard just to be interviewed," the meme reads. It shows Suotamo having to kneel down while talking to an interviewer while an inset features a female interviewer standing on a box beside him. Needless to say, it all has to be done so that both Suotamo and the other person are in the same frame.

It's great to see that Suotamo has no problem poking fun at his own height. At the same time, the 7'2" actor is clearly proud of it and is undoubtedly grateful that it landed him the role of a lifetime.

Suotamo took over the role of Chewbacca, who was originally played by the late Peter Mayhew. In addition to appearing in the sequel trilogy films, he reprised his role as the Wookiee in Solo: A Star Wars Story. It is still unclear if Suotamo will continue playing Chewie after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
