Weird Alternate Ending to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Has Been Revealed

By now, most people know how Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker ended. We're going to spoil the movie right now so if you haven't seen it yet, check it out now or wait for the Blu-ray, maybe wait for the film to appear on Disney+ in a few months.

Anyway, in the end, Rey kills Palpatine by reversing his Force Lightning, she dies, Kylo Ren emerges from the hole he was thrown in, revives Rey with Force Healing, then dies because you give some of your life force when using this technique. Rey then heads to Tatooine, buries the lightsabers of Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa, before taking up the Skywalker name, even though she's a Palpatine.

However, a Knights of Ren actor recently revealed that he saw an alternate ending to The Rise of Skywalker and it's pretty crazy. Admittedly, it's not as good as the ending to Colin Trevorrow's Duel of the Fates, which would have been awesome but it will still get people talking. Apparently, there is a filmed ending where Rey stays dead and Kylo Ren calls himself Ben Skywalker in the end.

While crazy, I'm not a huge fan of that ending. Why they would want Ben Solo/Skywalker to end up being the survivor is baffling when you consider all of the bad things he has done in his life. Yes, he's a complex character who struggles with light and darkness but it's clear that the latter consumed him for most of his life. At the least, if he lived, Ben should live alone and try to redeem all of his horrible actions.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker may or may not be showing in theaters. Expect a Blu-ray release soon.
