Star Wars Celebration: Site Accidentally Lists Ian McDiarmid as Padme Amidala

Ian McDiarmid has iconically played Emperor Palpatine for the Star Wars saga, and he's set to make an appearance in this year's Star Wars Celebration 2019. What's funny is, a site listing down the actors for the event has accidentally listed McDiarmid's role to that of "Padme Admidala."

This was shared by original Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew:

Based on the image, we don't know if it was the actual Star Wars Celebration site that posted up this info, but all the credentials are accurate now. Besides McDiarmid, Mayhew himself is also coming to the event, plus actors Billy Dee Williams, Ray Park, Alan Tudyk, Donald Faison, and more. New Chewbacca actor Joonas Suotamo is also making an appearance, and I would love it if he shared a panel with Mayhew.

Despite his onscreen role in Star Wars ending with Revenge of the Sith, I don't think McDiarmid is done with the franchise at all. He did voice the Emperor again in Star Wars Rebels, and I doubt he's going to stop coming to these Celebrations in the future. One thing I know is, some people are actually convinced that he'll be making a surprise appearance in Episode IX. I think it's safe to say we shouldn't hold our breath with that one.

Catch McDiarmid and more Star Wars actors when Celebration takes place this coming April.

Star Wars Episode IX is set to come out Dec. 20.
