Star Wars Celebrates May the 4th with Release of Obi-Wan Kenobi Trailer

In case some of you may have forgotten, today marks the annual May the 4th celebration for Star Wars fans and it's already become a tradition for the science-fiction franchise to drop a lot of goodies during this special day in the galaxy. And true to form, Lucasfilm is commemorating the spectacle by dropping the official trailer for the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen.

If you may recall, the project already dropped its first teaser last March but that pales in comparison to the one the production company just unveiled today. Judging by the stuff we see on the official trailer, it looks like our titular Jedi Master is trying his best to "stay hidden" as the Inquisitorius led by the menacing Grand Inquisitor are coming for him.

But as much as he'd like to stow away from all the mayhem, his mission to train a young Luke Skywalker will prevent him from going full incognito. Towards the end of the thrilling trailer, Star Wars offers our first glimpse at the returning Darth Vader. Check it out here:

2022 will undoubtedly serve as a full-circle moment for the Star Wars franchise with the massive returns of characters from the original trilogy. And what better way to celebrate their "homecoming" than by doing it in the month of May. As a huge fan of the franchise myself, I couldn't be more stoked about it.

Confirmed to be a 6-part event, Lucasfilm's Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere its first two episodes on May 27th.
