Star Wars Black Series Reveals Improved Version of Emperor Palpatine

If you've been collecting Star Wars Black Series figures for a while, you'll know that Emperor Palpatine came out as one of the worst figures in the early line. Good news is, Hasbro is making a deluxe version of the character, and this time it's sure to interest the collectors who want to have one of Star Wars' biggest bads in their collection.

The difference between this Palpatine and the original is the overabundance of accessories that it has. Besides the improved face print technique that Hasbro has been using, we also have two alternate heads for Palpatine as well as two different hands that shoot out Force lightning. He also comes with his iconic throne from Return of the Jedi.

Probably one of the biggest gripes about the original figure was that it didn't allow much movement for Palpatine as the bottom of his inner robe was hard plastic. With this remake though, he gets soft goods in the bottom as well, and you can have him sitting down and overseeing your Luke and Vader figures duel it out.

If I do have any gripes though, I kind of wish it came with his lightsaber from Revenge of the Sith. Then again, I'm sure there are some collectors out there who would love to have a version of Palpatine with his red robe when he goes up against Yoda.

This figure is expected to be released on April 13.
