Star Wars Battlefront II: The Clone Commando Arrives This Week!

The next update for Star Wars Battlefront II is set to arrive on Sept. 25, and everyone in the community is excited for the arrival of the Clone Commando. To help hype up the DLC, Battlefront community manager Ben Walke has posted this update on Twitter:

With the Separtists getting the droideka back in June, the Clone Commando is one of the most wanted reinforcements that is finally coming to the clone army. Though these guys haven't appeared in any of the films, they were a trooper introduced in another classic Star Wars game, Republic Commando.

Besides the arrival of the Clone Commando, we're also getting a new map in the form of Felucia. It's best known as the planet where Aayla Secura was killed in in Revenge of the Sith, but OG Battlefront II players will also remember it as a lush forest map with exotic flowers and terrifying wildlife.

The update is also bringing some more offline content in the form of instant action and co-op. Though the main "meat" of Battlefront II is the online multiplayer, admittedly some fans have been requesting to get some offline content. The devs have expressed their new eagerness to port over material from the earlier games, but I'm hoping this will be one of the last. I'd hate for Battlefront to just be too caught up in nostalgia.

With the Clone Commando update, it's said that the Clone Wars season has officially ended. Moving forward we should expect an update that's related to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but we might also be getting something ‘terrible' for Halloween.

Only time will tell.

Catch Star Wars Battlefront II on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The update comes out Sept. 25.
