Star Wars Battlefront II Official Update Gives Us a Look at the Droiedeka in Action

After suffering one of the worst launches in game history, Star Wars Battlefront II is making a comeback, and this month will see the arrival of the much-awaited droid unit—the droideka. EA Star Wars has released this official community update giving us a rundown of what's to come.

In this update, droidekas roll out on the battlefront, TX-130 Saber-class Fighter Tanks strengthen the forces of the Galactic Republic, and capital ships station themselves above Naboo in Capital Supremacy. Find out all the details in our latest Community Update video.

Besides the new tank and Capital Supremacy map, we're also getting the General Skywalker skin from The Clone Wars. It actually goes hand in hand with the General Kenobi skin, and I'm sure it would look great next to a playable Ahsoka Tano (pretty please, DICE?).

Besides that, we get another teaser of an upcoming Felucia map, plus something about "new ways to play the game." We don't know what that really means, but if Felucia is coming, I'm almost sure DICE is going to find a way to bring back the horrifying Acklay that plagued the map way back in the original Battlefront II game.

Despite some doubters still mocking the game since release, the Battlefront II community continues to grow, with most of the problems at launch already being fixed. Let's hope the game is here to stay, and the updates keep coming.

Star Wars Battlefront II is now playable for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
